 SOLA 2008
Our revamped team returned this year to where it clearly belongs: the
elite of barely missing out on the first half of the field!
Obviously, having the right mixture of youthful energy and veteran
experience resulted in this great success.
We are placed 374th out of the 734 teams who started the race,
and were timed outside of 10 hours by a mere 17 seconds.
To conclude: last year's weaker performance was indeed atypical, just a
one-year glitch, out of character, an exception rather than the rule.
Congratulation to everyone!
A kudos is due to Marc who ran a huge GremoPlus record on track 12 and
to Florian who finished the race without injuring himself.
For one last time we returned to Bonstetten for our signature, wild,
after-race party. The menu was the usual pasta bolognese, upgraded with some
lasagna, and many-many wonderful contributed desserts of various kinds.
Unfortunately, our sister team of optomologists,
"Aug um Aug", held their party at a different location, so we did not
get to know the story behind their repeated "slowest10" finish. The party
photo is on the right.

The contract of the current management runs out with this year
and it has agreed to take over an up-and-coming
team in the elite Canadian league next season.
The designated successor, Dominik, possesses all the necessary
psychological and organizational qualifications, skills, and
experience to guide
GremoPlus to further unconquered heights.
The outgoing management wishes GremoPlus all the best in the future.
We are confident that the team is passed on in good
standing, slated for a breakout year in 2009.
