Vector Quantization

By grouping source outputs together and encoding them as single blocks, efficient lossy and lossless compression algorithms can be obtained, as correlation in consecutive data is considered. Combining this idea with quantization techniques, we obtain the so-called "vector quantization".
In this talk different approaches and extensions to vector quantization are described.
