SOLA 2007

Our main achievment this year: the stafette has reached the finish line the eighth time in eight years!!! This is remarkable and congratulation is due to every participant for the accomplishment. Besides this, however, there were not so many things going right. The rain was pouring, Florian lost yet another ligament in his ankle, Marc had to withdraw because of illness (though his replacement, Anette Michel, was one of only few bright spots of the day). Our rookies: Yves, Patrick, Heidi, and Jack did a nice job; Jack got very close to breaking the GremoPlus SOLA-record on his track. Stephan had to perform a double-duty: after helping out on track #2 for another team, he was still placed 170. for us on his signature track #11. The overall picture is not so rosy: we were placed in the second half of the field and our time is the worst in the history of the team. Despite these negative symtpoms the managment has a firm trust in our runners, in their unwavering enthusiasm in particular. Though the final in-depth analysis is not yet complete, we already see the tremendous upside potential of this young team for years to come. This year we returned to the Steinwiesstrasse to join the optomologist-team of "Aug um Aug" for the after-race party. As it turned out they also had their share of misfortune: the daylight savings time, even after some weeks of its introduction, still cost them a dear one hour at the end. This pushed them back among the slowest ten teams (which category they succesfully fought themselves out of last year). Check out the official GremoPlus2007 team photo!
