FU FIGHTERS - An Adaptive Multilayered Platform for Soccer Playing Autonomous Mobile Robots

FU Fighters is a small team of autonomous mobile robots from the Freie Universität of Berlin. It consists of five robots, playing soccer against a similar team in the RoboCup international robots soccer competition. The RoboCup environment offers a perfect testbed for research work in the areas of robotics, mechanics and artificial intelligence, giving the possibility of sharing knowledge and experience.

The FU Fighters platform consists of several different layers, working together to control this years' world champions in the small size league. It integrates mechanics, communication, computer vision, and behavior control. It is a highly adaptive and flexible system, able to quickly integrate new hardware and software types of robots and to experiment with different learning and behavior approaches.
