Every planar map can be colored with four colors. This is a well known and proven fact. There exist many reformulations of the four color theorem in other parts of mathematics (stochastics, lie groups or algebra for instance). Some of them are surprising and we will present one of them, and we will show how the connection between the two formulation arises.
